Tell us about your wedding look. What made you choose your dress and makeup look?
I wanted to look classic and timeless, and feel that I can look at the wedding photos many years from now and still feel that it represents my style. I loved the feeling I had when I tried on the dress, both comfortable and beautiful at the same time. Regarding makeup and styling, I also wanted to be classic, natural but still festive. I let my makeup artist experiment to find the balance between natural and festive, and the result was loose hair with a natural makeup look.

What was your choice of flowers and accessories?
I wanted a bouquet that would be 'messy but still elegant.' I got in touch with an incredible florist, Kullafloristen, who understood exactly what I meant. In terms of accessories, I chose shoes and a bag that I could use on other occasions and instead let the dress, veil, and flowers take center stage. I wore a pair of discreet diamond earrings and my favorite necklace that I received from my husband. For me, it was important to love everything I wore and not buy typical bridal shoes or a typical bag - instead, I wanted accessories that are my style in general and that I want to use in the future.

Tell us about your wedding day locations.
The day began at Hotel Mollberg in Helsingborg where we got ready with our bridal parties in the morning. Then, we chose to have our photos taken before the ceremony to have as much time as possible to socialize with the guests after the ceremony. We were photographed in an area around Fleninge; the owners of the inn have an incredible property with an alley, apple trees, houses, horses, and a lake. The ceremony took place in Fleninge Church, a small charming church, and then the reception was held at Fleninge Inn. The night concluded in our suite with an after-party until 4:30 AM.
Is there a moment that was extra special too you?
Wow, there are so many moments! One unexpectedly emotional moment was when the florist handed over the bridal bouquet. I wasn't at all prepared for that particular moment to be emotional, but it made everything feel so real. When my husband and I saw each other for the first time during the 'first look,' it was also special and an incredible feeling. It was also emotional to see our two children, who were the ring bearers.

What were your bridesmaides wearing?
I wanted my bridesmaids to dress in various colors and patterns of their choice. I thought a bit like with the flower arrangement, that it should be a bit messy but still elegant – which it turned out to be. The bridesmaids became like a beautiful bridal bouquet! It's worth mentioning that all of my bridesmaids have incredibly good taste and a strong sense of style, so it just felt fun for them to do a bit of their own thing with the dresses.

What is your favorite thing about your wedding dress?
My favorite detail about my dress is how it flowed, the open back, and how beautifully it complemented the veil.

What inspired you to have your wedding at Fleninge gästeri?
We chose to get married in Skåne as we spend our summers there, and my husband's father is from Viken. We searched for a long time for the perfect venue, and we fell in love with the charm and age of the house at the inn, as well as its convenient location close to the church and the beautiful outdoor space for mingling. After booking the inn, we found out that my husband's grandparents got married in Fleninge church and had their reception at the inn in 1950, which made our decision feel even more right!
Did you have a special theme for table setting and decorations?
The theme was a summer meadow. Flowers were our decoration, along with colorful candles. We wanted to create a joyful and festive atmosphere. I'm so pleased that we went all out with flowers and didn't have a lot of small decorations. It was also important for us to have round tables as it creates a lovely atmosphere for the guests.
What tips and advice would you give other brides planning their wedding?
To truly base everything on yourselves and what you personally enjoy. Don't feel confined to a certain way just because it's a wedding. Consider things from the guests' perspective in every part of the day to ensure a wonderful flow. One piece of advice we received and took to heart was not to skimp on the budget; it should feel a bit extravagant. I'm so glad we went all out as much as we could, having a jazz band during the mingling, delicious food, fun wines, and an abundance of flowers. It was absolutely worth it! So, that's my top tip: go all out as much as you can!
