How did you choose location as the venue for your wedding?

It was very hard to decide on the location for the wedding; there are so many possibilities. But when it came time to decide, it felt right to stay close to home, so the choice fell on Sweden. And Maryhill Estate was the only location that had enough space for all of our guests, and such a beautiful place.

I’ve always dreamed of getting married under a tree, and it turned out so beautiful.

What did your bridesmaides wear?

They wore all custom-made Malina dresses in different shades of brown. They got to decide the style of the dresses themselves to feel their absolute best.

Did you have a special dress code for your wedding guests?

It was a really hard decision what to ask the guests to wear, but we agreed to go for the dress code ”your best self” since we wanted everyone to really show up in the style that they feel comfortable in.

What were some of the most memorable moments from your wedding day?/Can you share a fun detail from your wedding?

Wow, I have so many special moments that I will carry with me forever. But one of the things is that my dad officiated the ceremony, which was so special to us.

What advice to you have for other couples getting married?

Enjoy it and be in the moment! Hopefully, you only get married once, and you don’t want to miss anything or not enjoy it due to being stressed or worried.

Also, don’t forget to have fun. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and everyone is there for you and your partner!

Tell us more about your dresses that you did together with Malina! Inspiration and thoughts behind it.

The overall inspiration for the dresses was to go on theme with the rest of the wedding, which was a little vintage-inspired, and I really wanted it to feel timeless and not too trendy.

So the dress we did for my reception dinner was a fitted corset as a top and then an A-line skirt at the bottom. We chose a heavy fabric to really give the dress some movement, and I loved the combo so much. We added the small bow details last minute, but I do think they turned out to be the perfect detail. This is a dress I will keep forever, hoping someone invites me to something where I will be able to wear it again.

I had such a clear vision for the wedding dress as soon as we started with it. And it turned out even better than the inspiration. The color was very important for me; I wanted the perfect snow white color, slightly yellow-ish, that would go perfectly with the lace we chose. The hardest part was deciding what veil we should go for, but I am so happy with how it turned out. I felt so beautiful in my dress and had the best time creating it with the Malina team.
